If your family is heading to the islands next year, timing your visit with these celebrations can truly enhance your experience. First up is Prince Kuhio Day, honoring one of Hawaii's beloved princes. This festival fills the air with Hawaiian music, traditional crafts, and parades, especially at Prince Kuhio Park in Poipu, Kauai. This event is planned for March 26, 2025. Another key celebration is the Merrie Monarch Festival, the world-renowned hula competition that brings together the best hula halau (schools) from across the globe. This week-long festival is not only about competition; it's a celebration of Hawaiian culture through music, crafts, and art exhibitions. It's scheduled for April 20-26, 2025. Both festivals are fantastic ways to immerse your family in the local culture and the spirit of Aloha, blending music, dance, art, and food into your Hawaiian adventure.
